IndentA 2011 Genworth Cost of Care Survey determined the median annual cost for a one-bedroom assisted facility unit in each state. The survey results tell us that there are an equal number of ALF’s with annual costs both below and above the cited dollar amounts by state.
Example: The 2011 median annual cost for a one-bedroom ALF apartment in Nevada is $33,000; there are an equal number of Nevada one-bedroom ALF apartments with annual costs both below and above $33,000. Nevada was #43 in the state rankings, making it the 8th least expensive annual median cost in the nation.
